Several years ago, two mothers
met in a special needs pre-school program, discovering that not
only were both of their children diagnosed with autism, but that
both women felt very alone. They wanted to learn more about
autism and meet other parents like themselves. In October of 2002
they sat together in a living room for the very first time, and so
it began -- The Salem County Autism Support Group.
Since that time, through many
provisions, our group has developed into something of a much
greater magnitude. As part of the Salem County Center for
Autism; our meetings, now known as The ANSWER Group are facilitated at
the Sharptown United Methodist Church in Pilesgrove, NJ. Through the development of
this larger support system we are able to provide up-to-date
resource information on Legal Services, Healthcare Professionals,
Schools and Programs, along with workshops and events.
We hope that you will take part in the dynamic of this very
special group!

From the North (I-295) |
|
Take 295 South to Exit 4. At the top of the exit ramp
turn left onto route 48. Proceed on route 48 until it
intersects route 40. Turn left onto route 40 east and
proceed through one light. Continue past Cowtown Rodeo
(on the right) to the traffic light. At the traffic
light, turn right. Proceed two blocks and turn right on
to Church street. Sharptown Church is two blocks on the
right. |

From the North (NJ Turnpike) |

Get off at exit 2. Turn left and proceed to the first
traffic light ( Kingsway High School ). Turn left onto
Kings Highway. Follow Kings Highway through Swedesboro.
At the gas station where the road splits, stay to the
left. Proceed past the elementary school on the right
and the Spirit Chrysler/Dodge dealership. As the road
bears off to the left, be certain to stay to the right.
Proceed past Beckett Country Club. Remain on Kings
Highway until you reach the traffic light at Richman's
Ice Cream. Proceed through the light. Go two blocks and
turn right onto Church Street. The church is two blocks
down on the right. |

Take Route 45 North to Route 40 West. Stay on Route 40
until you reach a stoplight with a Sunoco gas station
and Richman's Ice Cream on your right. Turn left. Go two
blocks and turn right onto Church Street. The church is

Take the Commodore Barry Bridge to I-295 South. Take
I-295 South to exit 4. Turn left onto Route 40 East.
Stay on Route 40 until you reach a stoplight with a
